SAVE OUR WATER

ShePower's "Save Our Water" initiative is part of Governor Newsom's Trusted Messenger Network, where a few nonprofits are selected to be on-the-ground trusted messengers. Through this initiative, our commitment was to promote water conservation and sustainability. We made a significant impact on communities across Kern County. Through educational programs, community outreach, and advocacy efforts, ShePower raised awareness about the importance of protecting our water resources. We are honored to be recognized as a trusted partner in this critical mission and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.

NON PROFIT OF THE YEAR

We are forever thrilled to have been selected by Assemblymember Dr. Jasmeet Bains as California Nonprofit of the Year! This prestigious recognition is a testament to our commitment to empowering women, fostering leadership, and making a positive impact in our community. We are grateful for the support of our dedicated team, volunteers, partners, and supporters who have helped us achieve this honor. Together, we will continue to strive for excellence and inspire women to lead with purpose and passion. Thank you for believing in the mission of ShePower Leadership.

COVID19

The ShePower COVID-19 Initiative, in collaboration with the MLKcommUNITY Initiative, was a dedicated effort to support and empower the community, particularly those who are hard to reach and those facing a trust divide during the global pandemic. Through this initiative, we provided resources, information, and support to help our community navigate the challenges and uncertainties brought on by COVID-19. From mental health resources to tips for working from home, we aimed to empower residents to prioritize their well-being and thrive.

CENSUS

The ShePower Census Initiative focused on encouraging African American residents and other communities of color to participate in the census and ensure their voices were heard. By raising awareness about the importance of the census and providing information on how to participate, we aimed to empower residents. Participation in the census helps families ensure that their communities receive the resources and representation they deserve. Together, we stand to shape the future through the census.

Assemblymember Rudy Salas is a strong advocate for women's empowerment and leadership. Through his efforts, he secured $500,000 in state funding for ShePower's leadership initiatives. This funding supports programs and resources that empower young women to step into leadership roles, develop their skills, and make a positive impact in their communities, with a focus on entrepreneurship and civic leadership. Together, we can work towards a more equitable and inclusive society where women thrive.
